So, I'm trying to figure out what my $32.47 is buying me, if they've removed the "resort" amenities that I paid through the nose to get. That great spa will now cost guests an additional $30 per day, in addition to your "resort fee." Oh, and on the Saturday afternoon of my trip, they ran everyone out of the pool area after lunch so the hotel could set up for a big Resort promotion that night. However, on a recent four day visit, I learned that the rules have changed. They also have a great pool area, with friendly, attentive servers and big, comfortable towels. I always told myself, "Well, in all fairness, they DO have a great spa, with a nice locker room, steam, sauna, Jacuzzi, and even a small lap pool and lounge area that's part of that spa. Still, I really like the hotel, which is why I've vacationed here at least once each year for the last ten years. I view it as a sneaky way to pad the bill, a sign of unmitigated greed. An additional $32.47 per day, to be exact. I deeply resent hotels that hide the cost of their rooms by adding a "resort fee" to your bill, the way the Red Rock Resort does. I should begin by confessing to a pet peeve as a traveler.
